The lymphatics are a network of fluids and tubes that’s responsible for the circulation of fast fatty vitamins and proteins. Similar to blood vessels, this system also plays a key role in the draining of toxins from cells and tissues, directing them to the kidney and liver for detoxification and elimination.

The lymph is also a major actor in coordinating inflammatory and immune actions, in response to infection or injury. If you’re sick, you can assume the lymph is at least partially involved. While there are numerous ways to encourage a healthy lymphatic system, assure proper transport of nutrients and effective elimination of toxicity, none is more important than physical activity.

Lymphatic Flow is enhanced by deep breathing, contraction and relaxation of chest muscles and running or taking a brisk walk can be very helpful. Jumping up and down on a mini trampoline or rebounder can also propel lymphatic fluid. A great strategy for improving lymphatic circulation is to take a shower and alternate between hot and cold water for a few minutes; maybe 15 or 20 seconds hot then 15 or 20 seconds cold. Hot water opens up the lymph vessels, cold water closes them and, as you go back and forth, you’ll be creating an accordion like effect, pumping the lymphatic fluids and improving their detoxification flow and elimination.
